Biggest road hazard in Russia: Cops

RUSSIA — Tuesday night, a police officer struck three teenage girls with his personal car while he was driving drunk. Two of the girls were taken to the hospital with head injuries, but their friend was run over by the ambulance and killed when it arrived at the scene.
No word on whether the ambulance driver was drunk or not.

Shockingly, reports involving drunk cops hitting pedestrians are increasing in Russia.
Earlier this week, a police officer was identified as the suspect in a hit-and-run that killed a 16-year-old girl. He was also driving drunk. A few months before that, a drunk cop ran over a grandmother and her 9-year-old granddaughter. The little girl died.
A pregnant woman was struck by a drunk cop a month before that.
Most people assume cops are sober because they’re cops. Never make that assumption in Russia. Everyone drinks vodka all day in Russia, especially the police. Other heavy vodka drinkers worth mentioning include Russian doctors, taxi drivers, children, and pets.
All the pedestrians that got hit were most likely drunk too. If not, they should have been.

Russia has a serious drinking problem, but they are proud of it, so we should just let them do their thing. Besides, it’s impossible to set up an intervention for 142 million people.

I laughed aloud at the part with the ambulance striking one of the survivors. Then I wasn’t so sure that I should have. But then I realized it was o.k. because I was laughing at the irony of it…I think.
