Burglar gets backtraced

FLORIDA — When 18-year-old Robert Rupp was arrested for burglary, it was a simple mistake that led to his capture — he forgot to log off his Myspace account.

A caretaker was removing hurricane shutters from the windows of a home on Sugarloaf Key, and spotted Rupp sitting on a couch inside. Rupp fled the house immediately, leaving behind a mess of empty soda cans, food containers, and even a little ground-up weed.

When police arrived at the scene and searched the home, they noticed a bedroom computer was powered on and still logged into Rupp’s Myspace account.

Instead of laying low for awhile, Rupp decided to look for another home to break into. Police found him walking around in the same neighborhood with two screwdrivers in his pocket. He confessed to the burglary because it was cold outside.

Rupp is currently in jail facing burglary and theft charges. To fuck with him, the police should have changed all of Rupp’s Myspace photos to images of gay guys having sex, and then change his password so he can’t log back in and fix it. That’s what I’d do.
