Kids are dumb

Unless you live in Africa, you’ve probably had your tongue, hand, or penis frozen to something before. I sure have. Most people are aware by the age of five that skin will often bond instantly to extremely cold surfaces, but the people that don’t learn that lesson early in life often become targets of cruel pranks.

OKLAHOMA — An 8-year-old boy had to be rescued by firefighters this morning after his older brother dared him to stick his tongue to a frozen stop sign pole. The boy accepted the challenge, and not only licked the pole, but stood on his toes to lick it as high as possible.

The young boy was stuck to the pole across the street from a school for about 10 minutes until firefighters arrived. The boy’s tongue was frozen so badly, firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free him. Just kidding — a bottle of water poured over his tongue did the trick.

He was taken to the hospital afterwards for treatment. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

It’s no mystery how the older brother convinced his sibling not only to lick a stop sign pole — kids will do anything you dare them to. But asking him stand on his toes while doing it is pure genius.

For every gullible kid out there, there’s a bully to take advantage of him. I have a younger brother, and I always used to dare him to swallow things like marbles and pieces of dog feces. He would do it, then get sick (or choke), and my parents would get pissed at me. That’s the circle of life, man.
