It’s usually the other way around: Stroking leads to sucking, but not in the case of a 44-year-old New Zealand woman who suffered a different kind of stroke after her boyfriend gave her a hickey on the neck.

Doctors claim that the suction applied to the woman’s neck by her boyfriend freed a blood clot, which then traveled to her heart. It didn’t happen instantly though. The stroke happened a couple of days later while she was watching TV. Doctors thought American Idol caused it until they noticed the hickey.

“Because of the physical trauma, it had made a bit of bruising inside the vessel,” said a doctor that treated her. “There was a clot in the artery underneath where the hickey was.”

When the clot dislodged and traveled to the woman’s heart, it caused a minor stroke that led to the temporary loss of movement in her arm. It’s a good thing that happened after they banged because she probably wouldn’t have been able to tickle his balls while jerking him off — that requires two hands.

The woman recovered after being treated with an anti-coagulant, and her boyfriend was never arrested or charged with attempted murder because everyone thought it was an accident. I’m not so sure he’s innocent though. There is something suspicious about a grown man that gives people hickeys.
