Man smited by cops after finding God

NEW MEXICO — Investigators in Albuquerque are awaiting autopsy results with hopes of finding out what caused 38-year-old Jerry Perea to suddenly die in front of several witnesses and police last week.

Nobody seems to know how the middle-aged mentally unstable man with a long criminal history could just up and DIE minutes after attacking two police officers and then getting shot by a Taser. I’ll take a wild guess and say that having 50,000 volts of electricity pass through his body had something to do with it.

It all started when Perea’s mother called 911 after her son had a violent episode. When the police arrived, Perea had fled, but they caught up to him nearby. The tension quickly escalated as Perea whipped out a crucifix and attacked the officers, wounding them both.

It’s unknown why he went crazy, but his mother said he recently found God, so that’s probably why.

One of the officers was able to grab their Taser gun and shoot Perea with it, causing him to fall to the ground. Once subdued, rather than slowly regaining his senses, Perea just kind of… died.

“At first we thought they were trying to handcuff him, but then we could see that the paramedics were starting to do CPR,” said a woman who witnessed the debacle unfold.

The police were scratching their heads in confusion as Perea died at the scene. This particular loss of life wasn’t very tragic though because Perea had string of criminal charges ranging from child abuse to assaulting a police officer. What I mean is, he wasn’t exactly a model citizen.

Perea’s autopsy results are still pending, but I’m confident that the cause of death will be announced as soon as investigators remember that he was blasted with a debilitating amount of electricity.
