CONNECTICUT — 65-year-old Raymond Roberge may hold the record for being the most frivolous 911 caller. Since the beginning of this year alone, he has called the emergency number 79 times.

Out of those 79 calls for help, every single one of them was a false alarm. Once, Roberge called 911 and then offered emergency personnel $20 and a handful of loose change just to hang out with him.

The police warned Roberge several times that 911 abuse is a crime, but he didn’t care. Finally, they arrested him on Sunday after paramedics and firefighters were sent to his home for another false alarm. When they arrived, Roberge offered to pay them to go to the store and get him some beer.

He was charged with misuse of the emergency 911 system, and released after posting $500 bond. Sadly though, it sounds like Roberge has some loneliness issues that can’t be cured by a night in jail.
