You really need to grow-op

CANADA — One of the largest marijuana grow-ops in Manitoba’s history was raided yesterday by federal law enforcement officers. Over 2,800 plants worth an estimated $3 million were discovered deep within the 148-acre property of rural land owned by a Vietnamese man from British Columbia.

The operation consisted of six greenhouses measuring 2,000 square feet each. Two incomplete greenhouses undergoing construction were also found. No other information was provided, such as what strain the weed was, or if any officers wept as the plants were ripped from the earth.

The owner of the property bought it in December. Before that, it was owned by West Region Child and Family Services and had a group home for aboriginal boys on site. How tragically ironic!

Neighbors were unaware of the pot farm until the raid, and told reporters that the new owner was friendly, but recluse. They also said that he had numerous conflicting stories about his background.

The property owner and two other Vietnamese men were arrested during the raid. They face charges of production of a controlled substance, and production for the purpose of trafficking.

The RCMP released an aerial photo of the greenhouses, as well as a photo from inside one of them.

I’m no expert, but those plants looked awfully small for a mid-August outdoor grow-op. Any outdoor crop on this side of the world should be in full bloom right now as the fall season approaches, and healthy cannabis plants receiving plenty of sun should be ten times the size of those in the photo above.

Maybe it was their first time trying to grow marijuana. That would really suck to get arrested on your first growing attempt before you learned how to do it right. You know, I actually can’t feel too bad for these guys because that weed was probably going to be chopped early and sold wet and moldy.

If you’ve ever smoked “China Bud,” you know what I’m talking about. Marijuana is completely harmless, but not when it’s loaded with mold spores because it wasn’t dried after harvest.
